If you've seen the announcement about 'more than 9,500 monumental inscriptions from over 25 parishes' being added to FindMyPast.co.uk, you may well be wondering which parishes these are (after all, Norfolk has around 700 in total).
I've been to have a look for you, and they appear to be:
- Barnham Broom
- East Dereham (otherwise known as 'Dereham' - not to be confused with West Dereham, which is a long way away!)
- East Tuddenham
- Great Fransham
- Kimberley (currently spelt 'Kimberly' on FMP under 'filter by place')
- Little Fransham
- North Tuddenham
- Swanton Morley
- Weston Longville
I make that 26 parishes altogether. Keep in mind that these are not necessarily exhaustive, but the total number of entries is currently 9,652.
Incidentally, the Mid Norfolk Family History Society have further parishes available on their website for purchase: http://www.tsites.co.uk/sites/mnfhs/index.php?page=publications-list
You may also be interested to know that burial registers (and indeed baptism and marriage registers) for approximately 60% of Norfolk parishes are freely available online here: https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list (filter with 'Norfolk' in the searchbox). Don't search them, browse them - very few (relatively speaking) are indexed yet.
For even more, pay a visit to Norfolk Record Office or Norfolk Heritage Centre (inside the Millennium Library). There are also loads of monumental inscriptions available there which were collated by the Women's Institute in the 1980s.
